Well, I said I'd do it, so I'm doing it!  Following on from the great job

did, I propose to post up the remaining, not-very-good season two episodes and carry on to season three's generally more watchable ones.

I was inclined to approach this in a "RD isn't PD" way, but actually I think that doesn't do anyone involved in ASJ much justice so I'll try not to go overboard. There are undoubtedly some OMG-Pete-would-have-been-so-great-in- this-scene/plot moments, but perhaps best not to dwell on them. There's also clearly a discussion to be had about whether any chemistry ever emerges between Ben and RD, and what the lack of the wonderful Pete/Ben relationship did to the show. I think that, although I love Pete very dearly, it's good that I'm a Kid Curry gal at heart -- perhaps it's a tad easier for me that way. Anyhow, this is what it is. If it pains anyone too much, I'm sure they will either object eloquently or not read it.

PS Short plot summary, guest stars, quotes and random thoughts/opinions will follow, not necessarily regularly. No pics. We all know Ben looked lovely *g* oh and this isn't meant to be an in-depth analysis, or even particularly intelligent ... it's just some more or less snarky thoughts :)

Episode 34 (S2E19)

Plot summary:
When Heyes and Curry accidentally come into possession of $200,000 in counterfeit notes, Heyes hatches a plan to buy into the biggest poker game west of the Mississippi.

Kid Curry:  How'd ya do?
Heyes: How'd I do?  Kid, it was a poker game.  That's like me asking if some old lady outdrew ya.

Other main characters (and who played them): Joseph P. Stirling (Jim Backus); Bixby (Chill Wills); Kyle Murtry (Dennis Fimple); Lobo (Bill McKinney); Sheriff Grimly (Rod Cameron)

Notes:  Filming with Roger D began only four days after Peter D's death ... what could be salvaged from the previous filming was interlocked with the newly-filmed RD scenes.  It makes this possibly the hardest episode of all to accept, and so I'm going to ramble on under a cut ...
